Cover your eyes!

Which well-known Wellington gay accidentally left their digital camera behind at Club Ivy on Saturday night, filled with photos we probably weren't meant to see?!

Club Ivy management decided, after a digital camera was left behind after a busy weekend, that the best option for finding the owner would be to look through the photos.

What was on the camera was not entirely what management had expected! Pictures of certain body parts in certain acts were discovered — and "quickly skipped past" — until a face was found.

We weren't told who it is but we are aware that if you're a member of any number of dating website then you've apparently seen it all before!

Win a $50 bar-tab @ Club Ivy!

We're excited to present our brand-spanking-new weekly competition to win a $50 bar-tab at Wellington's only gay and lesbian nightclub, Club Ivy.

And it's pretty simple! Just come to Aaron and Andy.com every Friday to find out how you can win. We'll have a different task each week and give the prize away in time for Saturday night.

This week, all you have to do is tell us why you should win in the comments for this post. We'll decide who is the best by Saturday at 5pm and will ask the winner to contact us with their details to claim the prize. It's that easy!

Get writing, peeps!

It's Sevens time again!

Most gays in Wellington don't know what the Sevens are really about; all we care about is that there are loads of sexy men on the streets wearing next-to-nothing!

The annual sporting event has become the biggest fancy dress party in the nation, and it's a perfect time to perve!

Head down to the city, grab a seat, and enjoy; the eye candy will be flowing all weekend, and some of you might even get lucky!

Mr Gay New Zealand???

This morning GayNZ.com revealed that 29-year-old Justin Savage is representing Aotearoa at the Mr Gay World pageant happening next weekend. Wait a minute; who is this guy?

Justin, who actually lives in Sydney and has done so for the past eight years, says he was nominated by friends and had an interview to become Mr Gay New Zealand. Umm, strange.

Historically Mr Gay New Zealand has been chosen from Mr Gay Whatever City/Town in New Zealand at a national Mr Gay New Zealand competition. Nothing like that has been held for years.

So who decided for this guy to represent Aotearoa, and why wasn't he at least chosen from Mr Gay Auckland and Mr Gay Wellington and Mr Gay whoever else?

On top of that, what makes Justin think he has what it takes to represent our country when he doesn't even live here, and hasn't been selected from and by a group of his peers? We're not saying he can't — we don't know the guy — but where is the transparency here?

What do you think?

Gay cruise hits Wellington

The first ever all-gay cruise from New Zealand to Australia, timed for Mardi Gras, will hit Wellington for a day on 19 February.

Around 1,500 mostly international gay vacationers on the ship Volendam will disembark from 3 - 10pm. They'll then carry on to Christchurch, Dunedin, Melbourne, and finally Sydney in time for the huge celebrations for Mardi Gras.

No doubt gay Wellingtonians will be waiting at the dock in their droves to spend the afternoon with a spiffing American for a whirlwind 7-hour romance.

Come to think of it, we doubt it — that ship is going to be a 24-hour orgy on a platter!

Queens gear up for Proud finale

Wellington's divas are preparing for a return to the celebration of drag at this Saturday's Proud 2010 Get It On Finale Party.

The event, taking place at The Garden Club, will feature drag numbers on stage at 1am and 2am, with some of the Capital's favourites. The party is also now free after organisers decided to waive the $10 door fee.

Shows will feature Arabia, Ellie Kat, Rhubarb Rouge, Gummy Sue, and new-to-Wellington Nikita (pictured).

Don't miss out on the return of drag to gay Wellington, thanks to Proud 2010, Out Wellington Inc., and Get It On.

Saturday night also features another special event to close Proud 2010: S&M's 2nd Birthday. Head down to Cuba Street and celebrate with Scotty and Mal.

Ribena has arrived!

New Zealand's original Queen of High Camp, Ribena, gave Aaron and Andy.com a run for their money at today's Bro Online Beach Party.

Andy was judging the model search competition when Ribena called him on-stage (pictured, above). "It's a good job you've stuffed toilet paper down your pants, girl!" the scandalicious diva announced through the mic. "Because it's not much of a mouthful down there!" Ouch!

Andy was representing Aaron and Andy.com alone while Aaron was off running International Customs Day in Auckland.

The Bro Online Beach Party was a massive success, with around 150 coming out to soak up the sun. Bro Online's Next Top Model saw six hotties fighting to represent the Capital in Auckland, with Scott (pictured left) chosen to fly there as a guest of Family Bar. He will join the Christchurch and Auckland winners of the competition as the new faces of BroOnline.co.nz.

Today's beach party was an official event of Proud 2010 which runs until next weekend.

Injury evidence from Rhubarb drama

Photographic evidence of injuries resulting from Rhubarb's broken chair drama at Out in the Square have surfaced on the internet.

We reported earlier in the week that Rhubarb Rouge may have injured a man after she jumped on him while performing at Out in the Square, causing his chair to collapse.

Now photos of one of the injuries sustained — a heavily bruised elbow — have surfaced on social networking site Facebook.

"Sore!" is all the man was willing to say, and he still wishes to remain anonymous.

Rhubarb Rouge was not available for comment, although it is understood she may be hiding in fear of deportation.

Come to the beach this Saturday!

Wellingtonians are gearing up for a hot day in the sun for Bro Online’s Beach Party and model search competition this Saturday.

The event, taking place as part of Proud 2010, kicks of at Breaker Bay from midday, running through until 7pm.

The Bro Online Beach Party is free and features live DJs, beach games, free sausages, and BYO alcohol (please be responsible!)

Auckland’s scandalicious Miss Ribena will be hosting Bro Online Next Top Model, looking for some local hotties to compete in a national competition for the next cover-models of the popular website. Aaron and Andy.com will be guest judges for the Wellington heat; gay!

For those without wheels, a free bus leaves from Maya on Blair Street at midday and makes two trips back to the city at 5pm and 7pm.

The weather is looking awesome, so spread the word and bring your friends to Breaker Bay this Saturday!

Queer Idol performer of the night!

He didn't even enter Queer Idol but he definitely won Performance of the Night after his smack-down with one of the judges.

Six guys and a group of straight girls entered the annual competition, belting out endless karaoke numbers in an attempt to win the prizes and the title, but someone wasn't happy with the chosen winner.

Soon after Rob Arnold — chart-topping former member of Boyband — announced the winner, 20-year-old Andre (pictured) launched into a heated tirade with the judge from the front row of the audience, screaming "you can't fucken sing!", "Boyband was crap!" and "the judges suck!"

Rob was criticised for being a little too bitchy, and Andre was unhappy with the way he commented after each performance.

When we told Andre he had won Performance of the Night he snarled: "you ain't seen nothing yet!"

Rob didn't seem phased: "He can say what he likes, I'll just go home and stare at my gold record on the wall".

Oh, and John took away the title and prizes for Queer Idol 2010; he'll appear on Camp FM this Sunday evening.

Farewell, Jeanette

Green Party MP Jeanette Fitzsimons this morning revealed that she will resign from Parliament after 13 years in the house.

She is the second Green Party MP to announce resignation this term after Sue Bradford, famous for spearheading the anti-smacking legislation, bailed out after a leadership battle.

Jeanette, who just celebrated her 65th birthday, says she wants to spend some more time on the farm with her family.

Farewell, Jeanette!

New Zealand's gonna get rocked!

In the year's most exciting news, Paris Hilton and La Toya Jackson — Queen of the Motherfucking Universe — will be holidaying together in New Zealand sometime this year.

This comes from Paris' auntie, who is in Aotearoa at present. Fingers crossed it actually comes to fruition!

Imagine, two gay icons here at once! This news gets us both excited like you wouldn't believe!

We're getting in touch with their respective managers to see if we can get the award-winning songstresses to perform a double act at Wellington's Club Ivy; how fucking gay!

Rhubarb and the collapsed chair

Rhubarb Rouge, the current Miss Drag Wellington, caused a stir at Out in the Square yesterday when she forced a chair to collapse after sitting on a seated man in the audience.

There are reports that the man, who wishes not to be named, may have a fractured elbow and mild concussion after the hilarious stunt.

However, Rhubarb denies the man was injured, stating: "He was even gaying it up in the toilets at The Big Gay Pool Party afterwards!"

When asked if she believes the chairs — a new feature for Out in the Square — were strong enough for the weight of a man and a drag queen, she laughed: "I take no responsibility due to the fact the chair was badly manufactured".

The Best Butt in Wellington!

Saturday night's The Best Butt Competition, brought to you by Aaron and Andy.com, saw 7 hot butts fighting it out for the title and prizes.

But(t) in the end it all went to #4, Marcus, who also won best butt at Vinegar Hill over the holidays.

Marcus confidently headed over to Club Ivy to sweep away the title and prizes before heading back to Devious to dance the night away.

Thanks so much to our sponsors: Club Ivy, La Casa Pasta, and CIRCUS fantasy BRITNEY SPEARS™.

What do you think of his butt?

Out in the Square a huge success!

Out in the Square, Wellington's gay and lesbian fair, was a huge success yesterday, as the event celebrated its 25th anniversary.

Thousands turned out to check out the stalls and entertainment, to eat yummy food, drink coffee, and hang out with friends.

Wellington's Mayor Kerry Prendergast, who has a gay son, officially opened the fair and awarded Des Smith our new annual award — The Pink Wellington Queer of the Year — for his work starting the fair 25 years ago.

We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who came to support the fair, everyone who had a stall at the fair, and everyone who helped out, especially our fellow committee members who spent the last year making it all happen.

Bring on Out in the Square 2011, we're ready!

PS: Don't forget that Out in the Square launched Proud 2010, Wellington's gay and lesbian pride festival which runs until 6 February. Come and support as many events as possible!

♫ I'm not a girl, not yet a drag queen! ♫

Which 20-year-old Wellington gayboy has bought himself a pair of heels that he runs around home in, even though he's never even done drag?

He was spotted picking up a shiny black pair of heels at Number One Shoe Warehouse earlier in the week, having apparently told staff they were for his girlfriend. They aren't blind, and didn't believe him!

"I just like to wear them around the house," he says. "When no one is looking!"

Fair postponed until Sunday

Out in the Square, scheduled to take place tomorrow, has been postponed until Sunday due to bad weather.
