The Glamazons reformed?

Reports are flooding in from the Hutt Valley that all four of The Glamazons — La Toya Jacksin, Natasha Crowe, Ellie Kat, and Victoria — are reuniting after being seen arriving at Trentham Army Camp.

Tonight is the officers' annual ball at Trentham and it's unknown at this stage whether the girls are there coincidentally as dates of Army officers, or whether they are reuniting for a long-overdue performance. The ball lists the entertainment as Chloe Reeves of Wainuiomata and Rob Arnold (formerly of Boyband). However with Rob currently performing a sold-out season at Porirua's Little Theatre, it's believed the bill is a front for The Glamazons testing whether they still have it.

There has also been confusion around who is performing at Club Ivy's It's Britney, Bitch! tonight, with Gummy Sue being the only queen to confirm to Aaron and Andy.com that she is performing. The listed hosts, newcomers Erin and Annie, have been unable to be reached.

Could Wellington be poised for the biggest drag comeback of the century?

Club Ivy ransacked

12:30am: Club Ivy is currently closed during one of its busiest nights after being ransacked by a group of teenagers celebrating an 18th.

A brawl broke out after teenagers were caught stealing alcohol, leaving some staff members injured and the club covered in broken glass. Both of the toilets were also extensively damaged, forcing management to close them indefinitely.

Seven police cars and an ambulance attended the brawl, which erupted onto the street below. Most of those involved fled down Courtenay Place.

Club Ivy is expected to open within the next hour.

Rhubarb insecure of other queens?

Allegations of "drag queen insecurity" have come to light the week before Miss Drag Wellington's theatre show debuts in the Capital.

Confessions of a Drag Queen creator and star Rhubarb Rouge "argued very hard against the idea of sharing the spotlight with any other queens", says a source close to the production, who wishes to remain anonymous.

Advisors to Rhubarb, employed to help in the creation and success of the show, wanted the supporting characters to be other Wellington drag queens, but this idea was quickly stomped on by the diva. Instead she opted for real females, who have been dressed and made-up to look like drag queens (see image).

"I think she's insecure about the attention being stolen from her," our source claims.

Meanwhile, another Wellington queen has demanded free tickets for the show's opening night or else she won't show. "I'm not travelling from [censored] and spending money on fuel and a ticket to see you lip-sync!", the bitchy email stated.

Rhubarb insists that "at least 3 numbers in the show will be sung live". Is that good or bad? Find out for yourself!

Confessions of a Drag Queen starts at BATS Theatre next week and runs until Saturday.

Jaquie Brown on Camp FM this Sunday!

The outrageously hilarious Jaquie Brown, from New Zealand's least shit sitcom The Jaquie Brown Diaries, is making a special guest appearance on Camp FM this Sunday.

"I am so excited about talking to Aaron and Andy," she says. "I really love gay humans, they are generally way more fun, better looking, and better dancers than the straight ones."

Jaquie will be talking about her award-winning show (Best Comedy, Qantas Film & TV Awards), having sex with Anika Moa, fashion, fame, and we'll quiz her to find out just how gay she is!

Camp FM, with Aaron and Andy, hits the airwaves every Sunday evening from 9 - 10pm, on Access Radio (783AM) or streaming live here — you can even download the show later if you can't listen live!

Jaquie has high hopes for her Camp FM experience. "Maybe I'll turn gay after the interview... here's hoping."

NZ gay famous on XTube!

An 18-year-old gay Aucklander, who became a sensation on X-rated video trading site XTube, is launching his own porn site with some help from an American porn company.

David, who can be found on XTube under the username 'cutedaveyboy', has had his videos viewed more than 5 million times, and says he receives anywhere from 15 - 50 emails a day from his fans.

"I probably get about 1 in every 200 guys contact me from New Zealand," David tells Aaron and Andy.com. "The rest are from overseas. It sucks!"

David was contacted recently by an American porn company, who are helping him to launch his own website. He's also featured in a Swedish porn magazine.

Some of his family became aware of David's video hobby, including his sister, but they don't seem to mind. "They give me shit about it", he laughs.

David's website should be finished by the end of the year, he says, and will be a pay site "to help pay for my study".

"Subscribe now and be one of the first to see it", he suggests. "You'd be crazy to miss out!"

Mr Gay sex scandal at Club Ivy

Security footage has recently been made available to Aaron and Andy.com which shows two well-known gay Wellingtonians having intercourse against the bar in Club Ivy while the venue was closed.

The footage, which is reasonably explicit, was taken by a security camera in Club Ivy while the Mr Gay Wellington 2010 pageant was taking place downstairs in The Garden Club.

"We were thinking of telling the boys off," says venue owner Greig Wilson, who tells us that the two entered the closed bar unlawfully. "But instead we had a bit of a laugh over the tape at our recent staff meeting!"

It is also understood that the action filmed on the night caused a relationship bust-up between one of the men and an entrant in Mr Gay Wellington.

Viewing of the tape can be arranged for a nominal fee, providing you are over the age of 18.

Homo hater on his way here

Beenie Man is a Jamaican reggae/dancehall artist coming to the Big Day Out in Auckland in 2010. He's also a homophobe who advocates the murder of homosexuals in his music.

He has lyrics such as, "I'm dreaming of a new Jamaica, come to execute all the gays". In his song Mi Nah Wallah, he says he would like to cut the throats of all gay men. In Bad Man Chi Chi Man the lyrics instruct listeners to kill gay DJs, and in Han Up Deh, the lyrics suggest hanging lesbians with a long piece of rope.

In 2004 he was stopped by Police at Heathrow Airport in the UK and his shows cancelled. MTV pulled his appearance at the VMAs the same year. Janet Jackson recorded Feel It Boy with Beenie Man in 2002. She later distanced herself from the collaboration saying “If I had known that [he was associated with homophobia], I would not have worked with him. It’s shocking to me. We’re on the same label, so I should have known.”

Yet the Big Day Out have happily added him to the line up alongside the likes of Peaches — an artist who, according to his Beenie Man's lyrics, should be hung.

Some people say 'hey, freedom of speech and expression!' Sure, but with freedom comes responsibility, and while he has every right to believe that homosexuality is wrong, when he starts inciting violence against homosexuals then it becomes hate speech.

So if you think he shouldn't be at the Big Day Out, go make it known on the Facebook group or comment on C4's Big Day out page – they're one of the Big Day Out's major sponsors.

Britney hits back!

Britney Spears' camp have hit back after reports surfaced in Australian media that hundreds walked out of her concerts over the past few days.

"Its unfortunate that one journalist in Perth didn't enjoy the show last night," Brit's manager, Adam Leber, posted on Twitter. "Fortunately the other 18,272 fans in attendance did".

Australian media slammed Britney's show, claiming hundreds walked out disappointed, although these reports cannot be substantiated. Media were asked to sign restrictive contracts in order to cover the concert, many of whom refused to oblige and left with a bitter taste in their mouths.

Britney's official website has posted hundreds of complimentary revues from 'fans' in an attempt to counter bad press.

Aaron and Andy present It's Britney, Bitch! at Club Ivy on Saturday November 21, with chances to win Britney's new album and her new perfume thanks to Sony Music and CIRCUS fantasy BRITNEY SPEARS™.

Lady GaGa loves condoms

The world's most famous drag queen-impersonator, the outrageous Lady GaGa, says her favourite accessory is the condom.

The popular performer, often mistaken for a real drag queen, was honoured at the Accessories Awards this week when she decided to promote safe sex after being presented her award by Marc Jacobs.

"I think we must all remember that the ultimate accessory is the condom," she gushed. We love her.

The Pope of Pop has arrived!

We don't usually do photo-heavy posts, but DAMN! The Pope of Pop herself, La Toya Jackson, looks absolutely fierce as she helps out the AIDS Project Los Angleles (APLA), a charity that her less-fabulous brother Michael was passionate about, at Millions of Milkshakes in Los Angeles.

Her royal Toyness getting out of the car — look at those fierce heels!

La Toya says, "I'm extremely excited to continue my involvement with APLA. I can't wait to get behind the counter and serve the community - and I can't wait to taste the La Toya shake again. It is very generous for Millions of Milkshakes to support our goal by donating proceeds from the store to such a great cause, I am very thankful to them!"

The La Toya shake is almost as delicious as the pop goddess herself, comprised of strawberries, raspberries, caramel, topped with whipped cream and a Cadbury flake! Yum! Her amazing new single, Home, is out now, and her brilliant album Startin' Over is out soon on Ja-tail Records — it's been delayed since 2003 though, so don't hold your breath!

Wellington's GLBT support line

With all the recent publicity surrounding Auckland's OUTLine, we thought we'd find out a bit about Wellington's very own support line, Gay Helpline.

The service is run by Wellington Gay Welfare Group, which was formed 30 years ago, and takes calls every night of the year between 7:30 and 9:30pm. "Whilst the internet has made accessing information easier," WGWG's Stu Donaldson says, "there continues to be a demand for a telephone helpline in Wellington and we receive several hundred calls each year".

Stu says that, apart from the important 'coming out' calls, the service gets queries on venues, social groups, gay and lesbian professionals, plus relationship and legal issues.

WGWG's total expenditure last year was $56,000, which comes from numerous councils, lottery organisations, trusts, and fundraisers. "Members of the gay or lesbian community can also contribute by volunteering", Stu says.

Gay Helpline can be reached on (04) 473 7878, between 7:30 and 9:30pm daily. Check out WGWG's website if you'd like to volunteer.

Gummy launches Aaron and Andy addicts' Facebook group

Gummy Sue, long-time abuser of our website, has launched a Facebook group urging fans of Aaron and Andy.com to sign up to fight what she calls "a vicious addiction".

Aptly titled AARON AND ANDY ANONYMOUS, the group's description asks: "Feel like your [sic] commenting too much? Posting dramatic sensationlised [sic] lies just to fill in your spare time? Called in sick to work out of fear you might miss out on a juicy story?"

"Join this group", the page urges, "and we can come together as a community and help fight this vicious addiction".

But Gummy is denying the suggestion that Aaron and Andy.com is a danger to society. "I went through a tough time while I was addicted to your site," she told us. "I got through it thanks to my Barney DVD and some close friends — I want to help others get through their addictions too, because I know just how tough it can be".

28 people had joined the page when this story was posted.

Study shows hot guys should be banned

A recent study, results of which were released today, shows that hot guys should be banned from walking near operational vehicles, as well as the use of handheld mobile-phones while driving.

The new handheld mobile-phone ban comes into effect this Sunday. This law change comes after numerous studies showed that the use of a handheld mobile phone serious affects the driving ability of the average person.

An independent study, funded by Aaron and Andy.com, also found that hot guys and makeup applications while driving should be banned.

'After speaking with 200 members of the gay community,' the study concludes, 'hot guys should not be permitted to walk on footpaths while vehicles are in operation' because they cause 'substantial distraction, and therefore danger' to the average homosexual driver, and 'members of the public in the immediate vicinity, not limited to said hot guys'. The study also concluded that the application, or touch-up, of makeup and 'fixing of hair' also poses serious dangers to gay drivers and the public.

But questions have arisen over the classification of 'hot guys', and the age-old belief that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The study, therefore, recommends all men be banned from walking in view of operational vehicles.

The study has been tabled with the Land Transport Safety Authority for consideration.

Bray debuts on Shortland Street

Brayden Croft, multiple second-place getting in Mr Gay Wellington and one time second place getter in Miss Drag Wellington, made his acting debut on Shortland Street recently.

He won a part on the soap as one of the prizes in Steven Oates' Straight Acting competition in Auckland last year, and was excited to get on set.

"All in all it was a really fantastic day," he says. "The cast and crew were really friendly and I look forward to going back again soon!"

Brayden's scenes — with Callum, Chris, Libby, and Maia — go to air in January.
